Srinu Vaitla has been in the slump for some time now. With disasters like Aagadu and Bruce Lee, the star director vanished from star actor’s attention. For the sake of recovery, Srinu Vaitla attempted a love story with Varun Tej, titled Mister. This film stars Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel in the female leads. Let’s check out how good/bad this triangular love story has worked out.

What is it about?

Chai (Varun Tej) hates his grandfather Picchayya Naidu (Nassar) for the undisclosed reason. He resides in Spain with his family and never wants to return back India and pay a visit to his grandfather. He meets Meera (Hebah Patel) in Spain and falls in love in the very next minute. But fortune turns a shocker as Meera is already in love with a guy named Siddharth. When Meera returns to India, things in her love story take an unexpected turn. Chai flies away to India to repair Meera’s love story.
Varun meets Chandramukhi (Lavanya) in India who is already in a trouble. How Chai organised a fight against the different goon gangs to protect both the female leads? What is his issue with the grandfather? Did Chai and Picchaya reunite? Get these answers on the silver screen.
Mister movie review Artists and Performances:
Varun Tej was astonishingly good in Kanche. Probably, we never expected so much of potentiality and calibre in the actor. But what happened after Kanche? The actor delivered formula movies like Rogue and Mister. Varun was decent in parts, where he had comedy scenes with Srinivas Reddy. Rest of the screen time, he is just another typical commercial Srinu Vaitla hero, not the actor. Lavanya had nothing much to do with Chandramukhi character. Impressing is too far, she was irritating at times. Hebah tried nothing different in the way she emotes. Expressions, body language and everything are same since Kumari 21F.
Nassar’s role is badly written. The villain is the dud. Only Srinivas Reddy and Raghu Babu were able to make the audience laugh. Rest of the comedians including big names Prithvi and Priyadarshi failed to generate laughs.
Mister movie review Technical Talk:
Mickey J Mayer’s songs are okay but the background score is truly unpleasant. Especially, the signature track used in fight scenes gave a very bad experience audio wise and also video wise. Background music made the film even more pale, which was already boring. VFX work is cheap, no offence. It just takes us into the past and reminds Akhil The Power of Jua. Editing is too bad and what surprises is the jerk in between a couple of scenes.  The cinematography is nothing great.
Analysis :
Beaten to death style of story telling. Just another time, yet again, Srinu Vaitla delivers his usual dump on a silver screen. Mister has everything you want to erase from Telugu Cinema. Forced emotions, forced reactions, silly and unconvincing scenes, comedy tracks which don’t make you laugh, songs that add extra torture and what not. The irony, people laughed when the reason behind Varun’s hatred towards his grandfather was revealed. Now, imagine what kind of film this was.
Srinu Vaitla has to review himself on a serious note. Comedy is his strength, can’t disagree, but in the name of comedy nonsense is unbearable. Mister would take the reputation of Srinu Vaitla to new low, the career graph of Varun Tej to uncertainty and the financial things too terrible results.

Mister movie review Plus Points:

* Srinivas Reddy comedy in first half

Mister movie review Minus Points:

* Unexciting story and screenplay
* Comedy tracks that irritate
* Unconvincing reactions and emotions
* Srinu Vaitla, Gopi Mohan and Sridhar Seepana
