STAMP challenge for startup’s was conducted by Hyderabad Metro

The Station Access and Mobility Program (STAMP) challenge 2018, was conducted in Hyderabad by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL). Mobycy, a dock less bicycle sharing app, Three Wheels United (TVU) & Bykerr, which provides on-demand integrated smart electric auto rickshaws, and Journee, an integrated ticketing, and analytics solution for pre-booking services, were chosen among the entries. Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), in association with World Resources Institute (WRI) India and Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), conducted the challenge as a means to come up with different first-and-last-mile connectivity solutions for Metro in the city.
It was reported that 85 solutions were filed by different startups and out of these, 11 were shortlisted for the finals held on Saturday at Metro Rail Bhavan. About 30 startup products and solutions were displayed at STAMP challenge 2018.

Mobycy deploys smart bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters through QR code access, with facilities for any place pickup and drop-off. Three Wheels United (TVU) & Bykerr provides on-demand integrated smart electric autorickshaws as first-and-last-mile solutions to the Metro with a one-time booking for an end-to-end ride. Journee enables seamless multimodal integration through pre-booking services and optimized public transport operations based on real-time data.

“Unlike regular ticket booking solutions for intercity buses, we are providing one-ticket booking solution for city buses and Metro services for end-to-end rides. A commuter can book city bus tickets on different routes and Metro services for any number of days with our solution,” said Sankaran Kaliappan, founder, and CEO of Journee, which was incubated at We Hub, Telangana for STAMP challenge 2018.

Speaking at the programme, Cyient founder chairman BVR Mohan Reddy wanted the young entrepreneurs to focus on values and said there were four important factors —customers, employees, investors, and society — that play a vital role in the success of any entrepreneurship.

Later in the panel discussion, HMRL MD NVS Reddy, Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy, Phoenix Chairman and Honorary Consul General to South Korea Suresh Chukkapalli, Shantha Biotechnics chairman K Varaprasad Reddy, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar discussed the traffic congestion in Hyderabad and urged the young entrepreneurs to provide apt solutions in this regard.
