Seventeen-year-old Raksha Gopal, a resident of Noida, has emerged the national topper of (CBSE) Class 12 examination by scoring 99.6% in humanities stream.After much delay and speculation, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday announced the examination results of the Senior Secondary Examination (Class 12th).A total of 10,98,891 candidates from 10,678 schools had registered for examinations which were held from 9th of March to 29th of April.
Delhi region has the highest number of candidates, which number 2,58,321, followed by Panchkula and Ajmer.
A total of 2497 candidates under the disabilities category had also registered for this year’s exam.CBSE has maintained that it will follow the Delhi High Court order on the moderation policy, which was scrapped last month.
The high court had said that the decision by the CBSE to scrap moderation policy would have a drastic effect on the students.
Moderation policy is a practice in which students are given extra marks in subjects regarded unusually difficult, or when there have been differences in the sets of question papers.
Prior to the court order, CBSE had decided to remove the Moderation Policy this year in order to keep the inflation of marks in check.

The CBSE all India pass percentage has dipped a bit this time to 82 per cent as against last year’s 83.05 per cent.
Last year’s topper Sukriti Gupta scored 99.4 per cent.The CBSE topper scored 99.6 per cent, while the second topper Bhumi Sawant of Chandigarh scored 99.4 per cent.Aditya Jain from Bhawan Vidyalaya Chandigarh tied third with Mannat Luthra at 99.2%.
The much-awaited CBSE Class 12 board results were declared with moderation policy on May 28 at 10:20 am.The results will be available on the websites- www.results.nic.in, ww.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.
