Btech students protest: Students from different colleges started protesting on JNTUH evaluation system after the declaration of JNTUH semester results.Students raised their voice against the Governing body to stop this money business and not to play with students Life. They have protested in their college premises. Many colleges affiliated to JNTUH university joined a protest.

After the objection on results and evaluation, JNTUH  university registrar responded to students protest. JNTUH released a press release on 13th Feb signed by the registrar.

Few students represented that they have failed in the subject though answered well, revaulation fee is high, revaluation results must be declared before the notification for supplementary examinations issued, minimum time allotment of each script for evaluation, more transparency in evaluation etc.

“The pass percentage in the 2nd year first semester for the recently conducted regular examination is 26%. This is not unusual as compared to the previous years(27-33%.This pass percentage indicates that 26% students passed all the subjects of the respective semester. If any candidate fails in one subject, the candidate is declared fail.In terms of the number of subjects and scripts evaluated by the university,for2/4 I semester 188893 scripts have been declared pass out of the total of 304171 scripts which indicates fairly acceptable as compared to the other semesters. It appears few students who failed are under impression that the evaluation system is wrong which is not correct” says Registrar of JNTUH.

JNTUH  says that revaluation fee was fixed long back and in vogue for several years, it cannot be changed now.

PR also says “University handles a huge number of colleges with a different program like BTech, M.Tech, MBA etc and it is necessary to fix to programme schedule to complete in time. The revaluation is a time taking process in view of physical handling the scripts which are provided with bar codes and having no hall ticket number on the script. The regular examination notification cannot be delayed for the want of cases of revaluation, keeping in the view of the interest of all the students of the university”.

A Committee is constituted to suggest measures to bring more transparency in the evaluation system. The students/parents are hereby informed to repose confidence in the university evaluation system.
