We-hub for women entrepreneurs.

 

Hyderabad: Telangana Government made an innovative move and announced the launch of We-hub,  India’s first State-led women incubator. chief executive officer Deepthi Ravula said It’s not just like T-Hub, but this system will bring all partners of the ecosystem and will emerge as a single voice of all the women who want to come up with innovative Ideas. A professor from the University of Hyderabad selected for BRICS.

Words of We-Hub CEO:

Deepthi Ravula said “The idea of doing something specifically for women has been part of the State government’s agenda for a long time. However, we were just waiting for the right time and opportunity to launch a platform and when Global Entrepreneurship Summit happened with a women-centric theme we thought that to be the right time. At the same time, Niti Aayog was also planning something similar for women entrepreneurs so the Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao made the decision to give a shape to our discussions and announced We-Hub.” Follow us on Facebook.

Inspiring Initiative:

We-Hub motto is to encourage more women to see themselves as entrepreneurs and it also wants to change the way women entrepreneurs are viewed in this country “Women entrepreneurs will get their right place only when they get the right support and also have role models. And we want to become the nodal agency to foster this ecosystem,” said Deepthi.

We-Hub to tie up with T-Hub:

It will be working with T-Hub, TWorks, T-Fibre, TASK along with academic institution like Naarm, Bits Pilani, IIIT-Hyderabad, and others. The incubator has kept its application window open till April 15 and after that, it will scrutinize the startups with the help of various venture capitalists, mentors and other partners of the ecosystem.

Telangana government will invest Rs 15 crore for the women enterprises. Going ahead, We-Hub will not be limited to Hyderabad but will expand its wings to other regions of Telangana.
