HBO hit by a massive cyber attack – Game of Thrones data leaked

Satellite network HBO,  fell victim to a major cyber attack which compromised its data. This is not the first time HBO was the target of such attacks. In the year 2015, HBO was hacked and its biggest TV series, Game of Thrones’ first four episodes were leaked on the internet by hackers. Fast-forward to today, though thankfully the episodes of game of thrones haven’t leaked, considerable content was stolen, amounting to almost 1.5 TB of data. Facebook

Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. It is filmed in Belfast and elsewhere in the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Spain, and the United States.

Game of thrones series premiered on HBO in the United States and other countries.

Among the shows said to be affected by the hack include Ballers, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Room 104, starring James Van Der Beek, to name a few. Also, the script of the next episode of Game of Thrones (episode 4) has been found circulating the net. Follow us on Instagram

HBO CEO Richard Pepler confirmed the attack and sent out an email to all of HBO’s employees, announcing the details of the attack and described it as “disruptive, unsettling, and disturbing for all of us”. He assured its employees that law enforcement teams are working round the clock to catch hold of the miscreants and prevent any more damage. Follow us on Twitter
