After GES,3L worth decorative plants put up for showcase stolen in Hyd

Hyderabad and TS government has organized the prestigious eighth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) on 28-30 November 2017.The United States President Donald Trump’s daughter and White House advisor Ivanka Trump had attended this summit along with 1,200 entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters for two-and-half days of training and mentoring sessions, networking and investment matchmaking. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and TS government have put in great efforts to decorate Hyderabad for GES for which  500 decorative plants each of worth 6000/- were displayed around Hi-tech city and Madhapur. But a few days back, after the GES, it was reported that 58 out of the 500 boxes, which were displayed from Kondapur junction to Gachibowli Flyover, were stolen. This forced Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to remove planter boxes with potted plants and the vertical garden.“The remaining animal-shaped planter boxes have been removed and placed in Annamayya Dammam in Hitech city. GHMC officials will look after the boxes during the daytime. At night, people who maintain the Annamayya Dammam will take care of the pots,” Rajender from GHMC horticulture department told ToI.Another 5,000 flower pots that were set up near the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) as part of two vertical gardens were also reportedly stolen. follow Hyderabad newspaper for more updates

The GHMC said that they would install CCTV cameras in the area, to identify the miscreants. “We will be replacing the flowering plants in the vertical gardens with plants similar to those present in the GHMC offices. With non-flowering plants, we can avoid theft and plucking of the flowers by people,” a GHMC official told.

 

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has removed the animal-shaped planter boxes with potted plants and the vertical garden that were installed before Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in the city.According to police, pots from vertical gardens might have been removed and damaged by children or locals as they are small in size. But to lift and carry animal-shaped planter boxes, it requires at least two people as they are quite big.
