Additional DGP of Maharashtra V V Laxminarayana quits Indian Police Service.

MUMBAI/HYDERABAD: V V Laxminarayana has submitted an application for his voluntary retirement from Indian Police service.The IPS officer is from 1990 IPS batch.He will be third IPS officer to quit Police service before the tenure.Former Mumbai police commissioner Satyapal Singh, a 1980 batch IPS officer, took voluntary retirement on January 31, 2014, and successfully contested the Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate from Baghpat, UP. Subsequently, he was inducted into the Narendra Modi Cabinet as minister of state for human resource. Additional director general (special operations) P K Jain quit on February 28, 2014, and joined Ramdas Athavale-led RPI. After a brief period, he quit RPI and he is now a member of the Police Complaint VV lakshminarayana will be the third person in history to join Politics quitting IPS. Laxminarayana is a graduate from  National Institute of Technology and IIT Madras, He is well known for solving biggest scams in Andhra Pradesh, he was famously known to be JD lakshminarayana then. Seven Years of service to Telugu states:

After seven years, he was posted to Maharashtra as joint commissioner, Thane. He was transferred on promotion to the DG’s office. Laxminarayanan seemed to be unhappy over the manner in which he was sidelined.He was posted as ADG (administration) and later as ADG (planning and coordination), both assignments are considered as ‘side-postings’.
